When you become passionate about something, it’s really awesome to have a way to keep learning and a place to share your experiences.
That’s what HerbMentor is about.
Not only is it an amazing resource packed with courses, videos, podcasts and multi-media reference materials, it’s also a community. Members learn in the forum by sharing their learning journey with others and exploring questions they have along the way.
It doesn’t matter what experience level you are.
It doesn’t matter if you dabble in herbs or are a full time student.
HerbMentor is designed for anyone, whether you are an independent learner using our home study format, or in a formal herbal program.
HerbMentor is NOT about us teaching you. HerbMentor about a community of herbal learners of all experience levels joining together to help each other deepen relationships with the plants and our health.
Where many herbal courses eventually come to an end, HerbMentor keeps you growing with ongoing inspiration and education.
Our mission is to provide ongoing herbal experiences, so you can forge better relationships with and deeper knowledge of the herbs and nature.
Meet the Team
John Gallagher, L.Ac. started LearningHerbs in 2004 to help people learn how simple it is to use herbs and home remedies. He has over 20 years of experience in designing home study nature programs, and since starting LearningHerbs has produced the Wildcraft board game, the Herbal Remedy Kit, the Herb Fairies book series, and many online courses with world-renowned herbalists. John created HerbMentor when he realized the need for ongoing mentoring and community connection for those passionate about herbs.
Other fun facts: John is a five element acupuncturist, has recorded a CD of his music, founded a theater company, directed plays, worked at a PBS station, was a radio DJ, played in folk bands, and BEST of all, is a dad to two awesome kids.
Though he has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 1995, his roots run deep in the heart of the Jersey shore (not the TV show).
John LOVES being your host here on HerbMentor.
